Very Unofficial Guide to Rogue-Like: Evolution

DISCLAIMER: This guide is based on a single playthrough across a couple of different .991 versions (.991f – .991h, I think). Some things might be partly random, which I wouldn’t have seen in a single playthrough, or might have changed in an update since I did them. It also contains NO information on how best to raise girl’s stats, so don’t expect any.

I. MEETING GIRLS
ROGUE:
She’s introduced automatically, right when you start the game.

KITTY:
A few days in, you’ll (literally) bump into her on your way to class. After this, you’ll start to see her around campus at random.

EMMA:
She’ll show up to teach class at some point, and talk to you afterward. Despite all the talk about wanting to study you, nothing else will happen unless you take initiative. LEAVE the classroom after the afternoon class is over, and then immediately re-enter. You’ll get a scene where you catch her masturbating, after which you can try to romance her whenever you meet up.

LAURA:
She’ll show up at some point in the danger room. After this, you can meet her at random around campus.

JEAN:
Shows up in the shower at some point (week 2?)

II. OTHER GIRLS
GWENPOOL:
She has a cameo the first time you get a blowjob from Laura, but it’s just a silly easter egg with no real payoff. I’ve also seen people mentioning a scene with her in the 2020 April Fools edition (“Rogue-Like2020”), but I haven’t been able to trigger it. As of the current version, she never shows up as a regularly occuring character.
MYSTIQUE:
Not in the game! If you saw her in a screenshot, it’s from the expanded mod. To meet her, you’ll have to go play that instead of the base game.

III. CONFRONTING XAVIER

If you get too raunchy in public, you’ll hear a buzzing in your head and get called to Xavier’s office.

Normally, you get your stipend suspended as punishment. However, if the girl you’re with is high level enough, you’ll see an option with the word “Plan” in it, which lets you attempt to use your collective powers against him. Here’s a list of the girls, and what level they need to be:

ROGUE: “Plan Omega,” Level 4*
KITTY: “Plan Kappa” Level 3, also requires photo (see below)
EMMA: “Plan Psi,” Level 3
LAURA: “Plan Chi,” Level 3
JEAN: “Plan Alpha,” Level 3? (forgot to make a note)
*All levels are what the girls were when it worked for me. Might work earlier.

If the girl’s stats are too low, they might refuse, but the requirement shouldn’t be too much higher than you needed to get you in trouble in the first place. I had Laura refuse at 773/574/763, and do it at 919/741/831. All the other girls did it the first try on this playthrough. Just be sure to save your game before taking any risky actions in public, and If things don’t work out, raise their stats a bit and try again.

You also might get a message about Xavier looking pretty drained or something. This just means you did another plan too recently, and should try again the next day.

IV. XAVIER’S OFFICE HEIST:
For Kitty, you also need to have blackmail on Xavier from his office. To get inside, you either need a key, or you need Kitty in your party so she can phase through the door. It might take a few nights, since after checking one or two things, a light starts blinking and you have to leave. The picture should show up in one of the drawers (I think it was the left for me. May be random). I think I might have needed Kitty with me to phase through a box it was inside of. You can also find $500 hidden in the bookcase, and a keyring (gives all keys) in one of the other drawers. Seems plausible there might be other loot, given that there’s 4 searchable locations?

After a successful “Plan,” you get several options:
1. Don’t bother us anymore: does what it says, but ONLY works for the girl you’re currently with. He’ll still bother you with other girls. If you’ve already chosen this, you can also toggle it back off.
2. Raise my stipend: does what it says. Can only raise it a few times before it maxes out, but it’s separate from the raise you get by leveling up.
3. There’s this girl that’s been bothering me: Apparently kicks a girl of your choice out of school (temporarily?). Haven’t used it myself.
4. In (sic) was interested in a key: you can pick Xavier’s key, or the key of the girl you’re with. Mostly only worth it after you’ve got him to stop bothering you and maxed your stipend, though getting his key makes looting his office easier.

V. CLOTHES, ETC.

1. SHOP: By far, the majority of girls’ non-default clothes are from the shop.
2. EVENTS: Some clothes show up after events.
i. Kitty will ask for money to buy Laura new clothes.
ii. Rogue may randomly rip her tights in the danger room.
iii. Sunbathing will tan the girls. They will get paler again
over time.

VI. MISSABLE CONTENT

1. LAURA’S NEW CLOTHES
After Laura shows up, Kitty will ask for contributions to buy Laura some clothes. Chip in, and next time you visit Kitty’s room in the evening, you’ll hear her and Laura inside. Once you hear the two of them, the event has triggered, and will not trigger again. If your stats are high enough (or you have a key), Kitty will let you in and you can see a little bonus dialogue between the two of them. If not, you’ll get left outside and the event will NOT happen again unless you start a new playthrough or load an earlier save. There are probably some variations depending on how high your stats are, exactly, but I haven’t experimented much.

2. MISCELLANY
As far as I know, there’s nothing else really “missable,” unless you count things like negative reactions, low-skill variants of sex scenes, etc. which you might not ever see if you raise girls’ stats high enough to see the better reactions before trying them.

VII. FINAL NOTE
This guide is probably very incomplete and may have incorrect information for reasons mentioned near the top. If you want to edit it, share it, etc., go ahead. idgaf.
